Nick DelBello is a sought-after conductor and educator, known for his innovative programming, conducting technique, and connection with audiences.

Mr. DelBello recently began an appointment as Music Director of the Amherst Symphony Orchestra and will lead the orchestra in each of its regular season concerts. The ASO’s 2024-2025 season will feature local and regional, soloists and composers, as well as new partnerships and collaborations with area schools and community organizations. Mr. DelBello has also been the Music Director of the Clarence Summer Orchestra, a professional ensemble that presents weekly summer concerts in Clarence Town Park, since 2019.

Mr. DelBello has appeared as a guest conductor with the Genesee, Orchard Park, and Southern Tier Symphonies as well as the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra and numerous festival ensembles for local and state music education associations, and was previously the Music Director of the Cheektowaga Symphony. He was also the Interim Artistic Director of Buffalo Opera Unlimited from 2022-2023. He made his debut with the company producing and conducting Verdi’s Un ball en maschera which was hailed by Buffalo Rising as “a first-rate production”. He also produced and conducted a double bill of Menotti’s The Medium and The Telephone to critical acclaim.

He is a full-time music teacher at Williamsville South High School where he is the co-director of the choral program and teaches courses in Music Theory. Mr. DelBello is also active locally as a pianist and organist and has performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra. Mr. DelBello holds degrees from SUNY Fredonia and the University of Miami, and was included in the 2022 class of Buffalo Business First’s “Forty Under Forty” list, honoring young professionals for career achievements and community involvement.
